Root canal treatment is an endodontic procedure that removes infected or damaged pulp tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and disinfects the root canals, and seals them to eliminate infection and save the natural tooth.
At BK Dental, we use advanced techniques and technology to perform comfortable, effective root canal treatments. Our experienced team focuses on preserving your natural teeth and relieving pain caused by tooth infections.
Book a ConsultationRoot canal treatment involves removing infected or inflamed pulp tissue from inside the tooth, cleaning and shaping the root canals, then filling and sealing them. The pulp is the soft tissue inside the tooth containing nerves and blood vessels. When it becomes infected due to deep decay, cracks, or trauma, a root canal is often the best way to save the tooth and eliminate pain. After treatment, the tooth is typically restored with a crown for long-term protection.

Digital X-rays and examination to assess the extent of infection and plan treatment.
Local anesthesia ensures you remain comfortable throughout the procedure.
Infected pulp is removed, and root canals are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
Canals are filled and sealed, then a crown is placed to protect the treated tooth.
After root canal treatment, some mild discomfort or sensitivity is normal and typically resolves within a few days. Over-the-counter pain relievers are usually sufficient. Avoid chewing on the treated tooth until your permanent restoration is placed.
The cost of root canal treatment varies depending on several factors. We provide detailed treatment plans and work with most insurance providers. Financing options are available, and patients may also be eligible for coverage under the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).

BK Dental provides expert root canal treatment at both our Scarborough and Richmond Hill locations. Whether you're experiencing tooth pain or have been referred for endodontic care, our team is here to help you find relief and save your natural teeth.
